Seersuckers were traditionally woven from cotton in a manner that creates both smooth and textured stripes. This was perfect for hot climates as the fabric does not sit flat on the skin, and has the added bonus of not requiring ironing.  These days there are various forms of seersucker and ripple cloth using an assortment of techniques and compositions. Our Japanese mills have various fabrics available in both printed, yarn dyed and plain.
